New Lipstick Additions: NYX Cosmetics

Ever since prom 2013 I've been in love with NYX Cosmetics. I took advantage of the Cyber Monday deals, and headed over their website. They always have free shipping on orders over $25 and I looove free shipping!

14 days later my package arrived!

Their Cyber Monday deal was 40% off for a lot of things. I bought 8 lipsticks and a matte eye liner.

In the top photo is: Collection Noir Matte Black Liner, Soft Matte Lip Cream in Prague, Butter Lipstick in Sweet Tart & Hunk, Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in Medusa, Topaz, Haute Couture, Hestia, Fire and a lip pencil (that I can't remember why I ordered) in Rose Brown.

 I decided to take a photo of the swatches without flash and with flash in an attempt to show the color better. Cell phone cameras aren't ideal for everything!

I already have a Soft Matte Cream in London so I knew Prague wouldn't disappoint and I was right. I like the texture of the cream and the brush helps to glide on exactly how much product you want to use.

I will admit that I was shocked when I opened the package and saw Sweet Tart and Hunk. They were a lot "brighter" than I was expecting. The photo on NYX looked made them look like deep, rich colors. As you can see, in the photo before the swatches, Sweet Tart looks like cotton candy pink and Hunk is as purple as Barney! Once I did the swatch I was happy to know they're not cotton candy and Barney bright. They go on as lip tints as opposed to lip sticks.

I didn't know Medusa, Topaz, and Haute Couture had glitter in them. I'm not a huge fan of glitter but I do like the dark shade of Medusa. Topaz and Haute Couture can possibly be any-day/everyday lipsticks. Hestia also has that dark color that I was looking for. I wasn't expecting Fire to be more pink than red, but it can be added to the everyday category.

*I have a ton of lipstick that never gets used, so starting in 2015 I plan on using all of them. Or at least all of my new ones!
